1. Definitions

In this Policy, the following terms have the meanings set out below, unless the context requires otherwise:

  • “Revane”, “we”, “us” or “our” means Revane Technologies Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17472187.
  • “Site” means revane.co and all pages, sub-domains and features made available on it.
  • “Personal Data” has the meaning given to it in the UK GDPR: any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
  • “Processing” means any operation performed on Personal Data, including collection, storage, use, disclosure and deletion.
  • “UK GDPR” means the retained EU law version of the General Data Protection Regulation as it forms part of the law of England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, read together with the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • “you” or “your” means the individual visiting or using the Site.

2. Who we are

Revane Technologies Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17472187. Registered office: 3 Walnut Mews, Walnut Grove, Wooburn Green, High Wycombe, England, HP10 0AG. We are the data controller for the Personal Data described in this Policy. You can reach us at contact@revane.co.

3. Scope of this Policy

This Policy applies to Personal Data we process in connection with your use of the Site. It does not apply to any third-party website you reach via a link from the Site — for example, our Instagram page — which is governed by that third party's own privacy practices, nor to any information you provide directly to a third-party service we rely on, which is governed by that provider's own policy.

4. Categories of personal data we collect

  • Waitlist sign-ups. When you join the waitlist on revane.co, we collect the email address you provide.
  • Website analytics. We use a privacy-focused analytics service to understand how many people visit the site and how they engage with it. This is aggregate usage data (page views, referrers, device/browser type, scroll-depth milestones and coarse active-time milestones); our analytics provider is configured not to use persistent tracking cookies or build cross-site profiles of individual visitors.
  • Standard web server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider may log basic technical information for security and reliability, such as IP address and request timestamps.
  • Correspondence. If you email us, we hold that correspondence, and any Personal Data it contains, for as long as reasonably necessary to address your enquiry.

5. Purposes and legal bases for processing

For each category of Personal Data described above, the table below sets out the purpose for which we process it and the legal basis we rely on under Article 6 UK GDPR.

  • Waitlist email. Purpose: to notify you when Revane Atlas becomes available. Legal basis: your consent, given by voluntarily submitting the form (Article 6(1)(a)).
  • Aggregate website analytics. Purpose: to understand Site usage and improve it. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Site (Article 6(1)(f)), balanced against the minimal impact on you, since no individual profile is built.
  • Server and security logs. Purpose: security, fraud prevention, and service reliability. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in protecting the Site and its users (Article 6(1)(f)).

6. How we use your data

We use the data described above to operate and improve the Site, to email you when Revane Atlas becomes available if you have joined the waitlist, to respond to correspondence you send us, and to understand aggregate site usage. We do not sell your Personal Data, and we do not use it for targeted advertising or profiling for marketing purposes.

7. Third-party service providers

We rely on a small number of specialist providers to operate the Site. We describe them below by category rather than by name, since the identity of a given provider is an implementation detail rather than something that changes how your data is handled:

  • Hosting and infrastructure — serves the Site and handles waitlist form submissions.
  • Analytics — a privacy-focused service that provides us with aggregate visit and page-view statistics.
  • Fonts — we load typefaces from a third-party font service, which may receive your IP address as part of that request.
  • Email delivery — a transactional email service used to send you the confirmation email when you join the waitlist. This provider receives the email address you submitted solely to deliver that message.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

We do not set marketing or advertising cookies. Our analytics provider is designed to operate without persistent tracking cookies and without constructing cross-site profiles of individual visitors. Should this change, we will update this Policy and, where the law requires it, obtain your consent before doing so, in accordance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

9. Data retention

We retain waitlist emails until Revane Atlas launches and any related communications are complete, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever occurs first. Correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to address the matter it concerns.

10. Data security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect Personal Data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction, including encryption of data in transit and restricted access to the systems that process it. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and while we strive to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

11. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your Personal Data, each of which you may exercise by contacting us at contact@revane.co:

  • Right of access — to obtain confirmation that we process your Personal Data, and a copy of it.
  • Right to rectification — to have inaccurate or incomplete Personal Data corrected.
  • Right to erasure — to have your Personal Data deleted in certain circumstances.
  • Right to restrict processing — to limit how we use your Personal Data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to data portability — to receive your Personal Data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — to object to our processing of your Personal Data where we rely on legitimate interests.
  • Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on your consent (for example, waitlist communications), you may withdraw that consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
  • Right to lodge a complaint — with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you consider that we have processed your Personal Data unlawfully.

12. International transfers

Some of the third-party providers referred to in Section 7 may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, we rely on those providers' compliance with UK-recognised data transfer safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, an adequacy regulation, or equivalent standard contractual clauses, as applicable.

13. Children

The Site is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. We will update the date at the top of this page whenever we do so, and where a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to your attention.

15. Governing law

This Policy, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with it, is governed by the laws of England and Wales.

16. Contact and complaints

For any question about this Policy, or to exercise any of the rights described in Section 11, please contact us at contact@revane.co. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
